Five different hybrids of cucumber Pant Sankar Khira, Sheetal, Rani, Pusa Sanyog and Mohini were examined for dry nectar-sugar content of pistillate and staminate flowers. Dry nectar-sugar content of male flower was observed maximum (1.023 mg) in cultivar Rani followed by Pusa Sanyog (0.933 mg) and Mohini (0.878 mg) and it was minimum 0.838 mg/flower in Pant Sankar Khira. In case of female flowers dry nectar-sugar content was observed maximum 1.742 mg in Rani followed by Sheetal (1.619 mg), Pusa Sanyog (1.520 mg) and Pant Sankar Khira (1.304 mg) and it was observed minimum 1.259 mg/flower in Mohini. Dry nectar-sugar content of female flowers in five cucumber hybrids was comparatively higher than those of male flowers whereas honeybees visited twice on male flowers as compared to female flowers.
