Abstract

Bitter gourd genotypes were evaluated for yield attributes at two locations viz experimental farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung and farmer's field in Longkuba, Longkhum village of Mokokchung district, Nagaland. Five genotypes were taken for evaluation. Number of fruits per vine was highest in entry Pallee (16.8) followed by Bipasa (14.87). However the fruit length was higher in entry Prachi (28 cm) and fruit diameter and circumference were higher in Palee (6.49 and 19.89 cm respectively) while Bipasa and Prachi were at par for the two traits. Total fruit yield per hectare ranged from 2.85 to 15.62 MT. Among the entries highest fruit weight (209.9 and 199.47 g), yield/vine (3.5 and 2.95 kg) and yield (15.62 and 13.17 MT/ha) were recorded in genotypes Palee and Bipasa respectively.
