Abstract

Variability in individuals for particular traits may be partly due to genotypic factor and partly due to environmental factors. The combined reflection of both factors is the phenotypic effect. Thirty provenances were selected in National Teak Germplasm Bank, Lahota, Chandrapur Maharashtra. The maximum heritability, genetic advance, genetic gain, phenotypic and genotypic coefficient were recorded in the wood extractives as compared to growth parameters. It shows that the growth parameters of trees are less influenced by genotypic factors than environmental factors.
