Abstract

Studies were carried out in the Department of Seed Science and Technology, TNAU, Coimbatore by exposing seeds to accelerated ageing test for eight days (45±°C and 100% relative humidity). The evaluation of seed vigour was obtained by comparing aged seeds to control seeds. The results revealed that six days of accelerated ageing was equivalent to nine months of natural storage at the time maintained the germination above Indian Minimum Seed Certification Standards.
