Eating habits of consumers in American Food Restaurants (AFRs)

Abstract

The present study throws light on consumers’ most preferred occasion, time, mode and also their nature of consumption decision of American foods. Around 90 consumers frequenting different American Food Restaurants (AFRs) were surveyed in Bengaluru city and data were analysed using descriptive statistics. Nearly half of the consumers preferred going to AFRs while they were with their friends followed by informal gatherings. An equal number of the consumers expressed that evening or night was their favourite time to eat American foods. Nearly three-fourth of the respondents consumed American foods at the restaurant itself. A little more than half of the consumers were consuming foods from AFRs instantaneously on an impulse basis.
