Abstract

A study was carried out to evaluate the histological changes during cutaneous wound healing in buffalo calves treated with leaf extracts of Tagetes ereeta. Wounds were treated with leaf extracts of Tagetes erecta and biopsy materials were collected on 3rd, 7th, 15th and 25th post-operative days. Histological slide on 3rd day revealed haemorrhage and scanty infiltration of neutrophils. 7th day slide depicted regenerating epithelium from periphery progressing towards centre. On 15th day the epidermis was very thick with intact membrane, well formed rete pegs. The 25th day slide depicted well differentiated epidermal layer. Rete pegs were extending uniformly into dermal layer.
