A study was carried out to investigate the effect of UMMB feeding on blood hormone (insulin and Progesterone) concentrations in buffaloes during winter and summer seasons. Twenty seven freshly calved buffaloes were divided into two groups. The experimental group was administered UMMB with feed and the animals were observed for the manifestation of first behavioural estrus upto 60 days postpartum. There was non-significant variation of blood insulin levels between supplemented and control groups during both the seasons. The progesterone levels were significantly higher in winter calved animals. The onset of follicular activity was also earlier in winter (3rd week) than summer calved buffaloes (4th week).
