Abstract

The incidence of cervico-vaginal prolapse was noticed highest among all genital prolapsed animals. It was highest in 5th and above parities. Higher incidence of genital prolapse was also observed in buffaloes having more than 8 months of gestation. Higher incidence of genital prolapse was observed in buffaloes delivering male calves as compared to buffaloes delivering female calves. Among housing systems, Stall fed buffaloes showed higher incidence of genital prolapse as compared to semi stall fed animals. Prepartum cervico vaginal prolapse was severe in 25.39% buffaloes whereas it was mild to moderate in postpartum cervico- vaginal prolapse. In case of uterine prolapse 3.17% were moderate and 7.93% were severe in nature.
