A study was designed to evaluate the best combination of premix (Protein concentrate), GNC with constant level of maize. The experiment was carried out for 42 days on 400 broiler chicks by using standard management practices. Through out the experimental period the weekly body weight gain have shown nonspecific response of the different levels of premix and groundnut cake suggested that groundnut cake + premix may be used when there is non-availability of soybean meal. The daily feed consumption, weekly feed consumption and cumulative feed consumption in the present study revealed the decreasing trend for T1, T2 and T3 treatment groups. The highly significant differences i.e. decreased feed consumption with higher levels of premix in the broiler ration may not have the good palatability, even though it is rich in nutrient contents (CP 30.7%, ME 3000 Kcal, EE 5.76% and ash 22.7%), leading to premix low weight gain and growth rate.
