Efficacy of crestar and PGF2α with and without gnrh combination in treatment of postpartum anestrous buffaloes

Abstract

Twelve postpartum anestrous buffaloes were divided into two groups. Group I was treated with Crestar ear implant, PGF2α and GnRH Whereas Group II was treated with Crestar ear implant and PGF2α alone for induction of estrus. In group I, estrus was induced in all treated buffaloes (n=6) with an average interval of 42.38±11.09 hours. Ovulation occurred in 83.33% (n=5) treated buffaloes of which three conceived. In group II, estrus was induced in 83.33% (n=5) treated buffaloes with an average interval of 47.00±5.78 hours. Ovulation occurred in 80% (n=4) buffaloes of which two conceived.
