Analysis of the entrepreneurial behavior of dairy farmers - a case study from bareilly district of UP

Abstract

A study was conducted during 2007 in UP state to determine the components of entrepreneurial behavior of dairy farmers. Factor analysis was used to find out the dimensions influencing the entrepreneurial behavior. The findings revealed that achievement motivation (0.782), self confidence (0.782), management orientation (0.744), leadership ability (0.559) and farm decision making (0.525) had higher factor loading to explain the entrepreneurial behavior. Second level of variables was innovativeness (0.665) and knowledge of vegetable cultivation (0.569).
