In the present study molluscicidal activity of aqueous and ethereal preparations of Karanj and Neem seed (1:1) were evaluated at their different dilutions viz. 1:20, 1:50, 1:100, 1:1000, 1:5000, 1:10,000, 1:25000 and 1:50,000. Mortality of Lymnaea auricularia was observed in each of the dilutions at 6, 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 hours and compared with mortality per cent of snails at similar dilutions of copper sulphate. The observations revealed that ethereal preparation of Karanj and Neem mixture was more effictove as 94–100 per cent mortality observed up to 1:25000 dilutions within 24 hours in comparison to 36 hours with aqueous preparation. However, activity of copper sulphate was superior to these two preparations of herbal origin.
