The antibacterial effect of the plant Kedrostis foetidissima (Jacg) Cogn. collected from Gobichettipalayam and Namakkal was evaluated against four pathogenic poultry isolates namely Escherichia coli, Salmonella pullorum, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. All the test organisms were susceptible to undiluted fresh plant juice. The plant from Gobichettipalayam exhibited better antibacterial activity compared to the Namakkal plant against all the isolates tested. The results were compared with the standard antibacterials co-trimoxazole and ofloxacin.
