Abstract

In the present study efficacy of HSOAV in buffalo calves was ascertained by detection of protective antibody titre using ELISA test and host challenge by inoculating 1ml subcutaneously (s/c) of 1:10 dilution in nutrient broth of 18 hrs old pure culture of P. multocida, P-52 strain. The analysis of variance for antibody titre HSOAV revealed highly significant (P< 0.01) effect of time intervals. Antibody titre showed increasing trend at different time intervals throughout the study period. HSOAV can protect the animals successfully for more than 6 months.
