Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the changes in haematological and biochemical parameters in broilers given graded levels of ciprofloxacin for various periods. The values of various haematological and biochemical parameters in broilers receiving ciprofloxacin @ 5 mg/kg for 14 days and 15 mg/kg for 7 days period differed significantly (P< 0.05) when compared with the broilers given ciprofloxacin @ 5 mg/kg for 7 days periods and the broilers from control group indicating the adverse effects of the drug if given at higher doses for normal period or therapeutic doses for prolonged period.
