The living arrangement of senior citizens in India is an important concern because of the increasing cohort of the older population. The purpose of this comparative study was to understand the factors affecting the living arrangements of 4356 elder lies (60+) living in northern states and southern states of India. The study is based on LASI Wave-1 Survey of India, conducted in 2017–18. Bivariate and multinomial logistic regression was used to understand the association between the elderly living arrangements and other variables.lt was found that nearly 11.8 percent from southern states and 2.2 percent from northern states aged 60+ elderly living alone in India. Elderly with financial support, have self-income, receive social benefits and belong to wealthy families live separately. There is a need for decentralised policies for the aged people's health and well-being
