This study aims to identify the patterns of living arrangements among older Indian adults taking into account socioeconomic and demographic factors across regions. The data was taken from the Longitudinal Ageing Survey of India (LASI wave-I)-2017-18, a nationally representative data set. Descriptive and logistic regression analysis was used to examine the variations in the living arrangement of older adults for different indicators considered. The experienced household size was 6.95, which was more significant than the national average (5.69) of all individuals in India. Male older adults lived alone and were more likely to head a household and live with a spouse than female older adults. This study contributes comprehensive information on the pattern of living arrangements of older adults. So many programmes and policies are being formulated and implemented by the government-for the welfare of older adults which must be structured-to meet the requirements at the root level.
