Abstract

The present study explored the relationship between social connectedness and well-being in 52 elderly, both male (N=29) andfemale(N=23) in the age range of 60 to 81 years. Social Connectedness Scale-Revised and Psychological Well-Being Scale were administered individually. Results revealed that smart phone use among the elderly significantly increased their social connectedness. Male older adults reported significantly more social connectedness and psychological well-being than females. It was found that social connectedness makes a significant contribution to predicting the psychological well-being of older adults.
