This paper examines the strategies to achieve a better family life for older people in the later stages of life. A total of 197 elderly (102 males and 95 females), aged 60 to 80 years and above, living with family members, were randomly selected from Aligrah (U.P.). These subjects were interviewed individually in depth using an interview schedule with open-ended questions. The collected data was transcribed and analysed. Fifteen themes emerged from the study identified as essential strategies that the potential ageing population needs to undertake as a-safeguard to achieve a better life in old age. The study’s-findings revealed that our value systems are gradually becoming less effective in fulfilling the needs of dependent and older family members. Therefore, it is essential for the ageing population to be cautious and make strategies for a better life in old age before they age.
