Abstract

The study aimed to find whether there is any relation between visceral fat content in the body and the indicators of increased metabolic complications and comorbidities like waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, and body mass index. 102 Bengali elderly individuals residing in southern districts of West Bengal voluntarily participated in the study. Pearson’s correlation (onetailed) was performed using SPSS 29.0 Grad pack. Significant (P<0.05) correlations have been observed between the variables. The study revealed a strong relationship between visceral fat accumulation and increased risk of metabolic complications and comorbidities.
