This quantitative and descriptive study aimed to assess and compare the social problems of 30 senior citizens, ages varying from 55 to 75 years, of both sexes equal in number, selected by purposive sampling method from selected hospitals in Salem. Demographic data of the sample was collected by using a questionnaire. The Likert scale consists of 15 questions with three options, always, sometimes, and never, with the scores 1, 2, and 3, respectively, which were used to assess the social problems of the participants of this study. Along with the Likert Scale, a structured interview schedule was also used to determine the social problems of senior citizens in a selected hospital. This study also compared the association between the social problems of senior citizens and their selected demographic variables (marital status and payment). The finding reveded no significant relationship between the social problems of senior citizens and their demographic variables (marital status andpayment). Based on the present findings, the male andfemale senior citizens were experiencing social problems and had no significant association with selected demographic variables such as marital status and payment. However, there finding underscome the need for further search.
