Abstract

The paper This research analyses the adoption of ecologically sustainable organization (ESO) concept by the organizations and applied it to emerging countries such as India by utilizing a systems framework. The three key drivers of sustainability including policy, technology and human resource development to enhance the adoption of sustainable practices have been identified. The implications for ecological sustainability of organizations and entities at the individual, organizational, and ecological environment levels were examined. Critical success factors (CSFs) that influence the adoption of ecologically sustainable practices are discussed. The managerial implication and the research implications are discussed. The research offers methods to develop strategic capabilities such as policy, technology and human resource development to enhance the adoption of sustainable practices which is an increasingly topical issue amongst academics, students, and managers.
