Abstract

People Capability Maturity Model (P CMM)®provides a roadmap for implementing peoplepractices that continuously improveor innovate the capability of an organization. It has five levels of maturity, viz., Initial, Managed, Defined, Predictive and Optimizing. Across the world, many IT/ITeS organizations have used the model to improve their people practices. Tata Capital started its journey on People CMM in 2011. It moved from level 2 to level 3 in less than one and half year. Some of the visible benefits that the organization has seen in recent past are standardization of its keyprocesses, role clarity, objectivity in terms of performance evaluation orpotential assessment orfeedback, effective communication and employee participation, relevant training and other developmental opportunities, enhancing the engagement level in the employees, and overall benefit in terms of planning and developing the workforce.
