The inheritance of raceme with bloom, bloomless, light smoky bloom, treble bloom and single bloom characters in castor was studied. The raceme with bloom and bloomless characters were found to differ by two factor pairs involving recessive epistatic effect. The difference between full bloomy vs. light smoky bloom was found to be monogenic, the bloomless character being dominant over the light smoky bloom character. The full bloom and light smoky bloom characters were differentiated by single factor pair. The bloomy character showed dominance over light smoky bloom. Single bloom differed from treble bloom by a single mendelian factor. The factor for treble bloom showed partial dominance over that for single bloom.
