Abstract

The mode of inheritance of reaction to yellow rust races 31 and A in the cross N.P. 4 X Simla Local and that to races 13 and 20 of the same rust in the cross E.B. 205 X Simla Local is reported. The resistance to race 31 and A was observed to be governed by duplicate dominant gene pairs and the genes involved segregated independently. One independent dominant gene pair and one independent recessive gene pair seemed to control resistance to races 13 and 20. These genes also showed independent segregation.
