The mature plant resistance of Quinn to Indian races of leaf rust (Puccinia hordei) was governed by a single dominant factor pair in its crosses with the susceptible varieties, C. 138-2, C. 251, N.P. 13 and Chevron. This factor pair was different from that possessed by the resistant varieties Gold and Lechtaler and showed independence from the loci V v (non 6 row vs. 6 row-2), S s (long vs. short haired rachilla-7), Lbl, Ibl, Lbl2 lbl2 (leaf blotching), Ne ne (spike alignment) and Se se (ear shattering).
