Abstract

Inheritance of pigmentation in stem, fruit, leaf, petal veins and calyx (3: 1), young shoot, thalamus, stipules and bracts (13:3), leaf lamina (49:15) and petiole (162:94 and 45:19) has been reported in the three crosses of okra involving parents R.W., P.S. and H. 412.

The individual and joint segregation of the four colour characters studied in the three crosses have made it possible to symbolise the genes and to work out the genetic constitution of the three parents in regard to different colour characters.
