The mode of inheritance of resistance to yellow rust races G and 57 was studied in the crosses of E.B. 410, E.B. 438 and E.B. 145. In E.B. 410, resistance to the two races was observed to be governed by the same dominant gene. In E.B. 145, two recessive factor pairs gave resistance to race 57; one of these was involved in conditioning resistance to race G also. In E.B. 438, a single recessive factor pair conferred resistance against race 57.
