An apparent reversal of the injurious effect of gamma radiation on barley seedlings and of induced chromosome aberrations was induced by post treatment for one hour with 1,000 ppm., gibberellic acid. These results suggest that investigations of the action of growth regulators on mutagen-induced damage are warranted since they may provide some new leads towards an understanding of processes responsible for chromosome breakage and repair.
