Inheritance of anther wall and pollen grain colour was studied in crosses involving nine varieties of linseed. Genes B and D were found to be basic for the production of colour. Besides them, genes H and S were involved in anther wall colour and O and S in pollen grain colour. Genes B, D and S thus showed pleiotropic effects.
