The present investigation showed that the phenotypically wild-types obtained as a result of possible suppression differ in their production of mutants following inositol starvation. Mutants obtained following inositol starvation do not acquire resistance to this treatment. Further experiments should be carried out before the above method can be established for isolating and characterizing suppressors.
