Loose smut reaction of 74 barley varieties tested under artificial conditions at Delhi is given. Of these 9 varieties–I.B. 2, E.B. 156, E.B. 283, E.B. 301, E.B. 465, E.B. 536, E.B. 581, E.B. 609 and E.B. 639 have been found resistant to the disease over three years’ testing.
