A new hybrid combination between G. arboreum and G. armourianum is reported. The hybrid plants were poor in vigour. A mean chromosome association of 19.94I+2.43II+0.12III+0.12IV+0.02v+0.05VI was observed in the F1 hybrid, indicating considerably high autosyndetic pairing. The allosyndetic pairing indicated that both the species may have five chromosomes with homologous segments, the rest being differentiated widely.
