Post-Mutagen Treatment Modification of Mutation Frequency In Barley

Mutation frequency is higher when EMS treated barley seeds are dried back in comparison to those sown in high moisture conditions. It is proposed that putting the seeds to high water conditions may help washing of mutagen from seeds. Drying back may cause an increase in the effective concentration of chemical inside the seeds.
