Twelve inter-varietal crosses of bread wheat involving E. 569, E. 871, E. 957, E. 1913, E. 1951, E. 2295 and E. 2842 were studied to find out interrelationships and diversity of genes present in them for brown rust resistance. All these varieties were observed to carry diverse genes for brown rust resistance. Merits and demerits of each variety as parents in a wheat improvement programme have been pointed out.
