Abstract

Two new mutants are reported in gram. In one (HM. 10), minute yellow spots are present on the lamina simulating mosaic disease. In the second (HM. 9) there is a general restriction of growth; in particular there are only 4–6 instead of the usual 10 stamens. They were found to be governed by monogenic recessive factors proposed to be designated mo and sfw respectively. A lessened or even non-production of giberellic acid has been suggested to be operating in the second mutant.
