Abstract

Several induced mutants of IR-8 (indica variety) and Tainan-3 (japonica variety) were evaluated for resistance to bacterial blight, incited by Xanthomonas oryzae. Several leaf characters like rolled, narrow, dark green and slow senescence were associated with resistance. No consistent association between disease reaction and amylose and protein content in the grain was found.
