Abstract

The inheritance of induced striata, pale green striata, pale green, chlorina, xantha, late xantha and maculata mutants was studied in the F2 generation of their backcrosses with the parent Sonora 64. Several genes possessing qualitative and quantitative effects are found to control the production and expression of chlorophyll pigments in the leaves. A difference of one to two genes from the parent was detected in the induced mutants. The different types of interaction between the genes in the expression of green leaf and mutant phenotypes has been discussed.
