Statistical procedures have been presented for the analysis of the data from a p × p diallel cross experiment carried out over a number of environments to estimate the combining ability and its interaction with environments. Estimates of the various effects and their corresponding sum of squares, the expectations of mean squares for fixed effect and random effect models, the testing procedures for the variance components in the two models and the formulae for the variances of the estimates of effects and their differences have been given.
