Relative effects of physical and chemical mutagens with respect to the cytological behaviour and pollen sterility in two varieties representing indica and japonica of Orrza sativa were assessed. The study in general, revealed that the japonica variety was more sensitive to mutagens than the indica variety. Occurrence of rare cytological anomalies has also been reported.
