Abstract

Inheritance of female sterility was studied by crossing seven male sterile lines and thirteen indigenous and exotic varieties with E. Kalo. The present findings confirmed that female sterility is governed by complementary genes Fs1 and Fs2, In Pratapgarh, Spur Feterita, Bichpuri, I.S. 1150 and Jowar 4692 B only rescessive alleles at these complementary loci are present. While Early Kalo has one gene (Fs1 in homozygous dominant condition, others have the second gene (Fs2) in homozygous dominant condition.
