The pachytene complement of seven bivalents of Corckorus slitorius var. JRO 632 has been described. On the basis of the length of bivalents the seven chromosomes could be grouped into two distinct sets. The nucleolar chromosome has a submedian centromere. All the remaining chromosomes have median centromere except chromosome 3 in which the centromere could not be located. The deeply stained chromatic regions are invariably restricted to the proximal segments of the arms in all the chromosomes.
