Abstract

A homozygous translocation line of barley involving chromosome 2 and 6 (T2-6) was crossed to a tester line carrying marker genes e (long awned glume)’, V (Two rowed) and o (orange lemma). The joint segregation of semisterility and marker loci was analysed in F2 generation to estimate crossover values between break point and marker loci. Results suggested the location of break point between the genes e and V on long arm of chromosome 2 at 20.76±4.67 and 10.97 ±3.04 crossover units apart respectively. Another break was expected on the long arm of chromosome 6 adjacent o locus.
