The mode of inheritance of functional dioecy such as styleless condition in Coix lacryma-jobi ind gynoecious and male sterile conditions in C. aquatica was studied. All the three characters showed a monogenic inheritance. Style-lessness, however, exhibited a duplicate factor inheritance when crossed with a different strain.
