Six generations, P1, P2, F1, F2, B1 and B2 of each of 15 wheat crosses were used in estimation of gene effects for grain protein content. Significant epistasis was absent in all the crosses. Four crosses, i.e., K68 × 301, NP 852 × Kalyansona, UP 302 × Kalyansona and UP 302 × K 68 showed significant additive gene effect. Dominance effect was significant in only one cross (K 68 × UP 301). The results indicate the scope of selection for increasing the grain protein.
