Abstract

The genetic relationship of resistance in four wheat cultivars to cultures of P. graminis tritici of unusual avirulence, P. graminis secalis, and sexual or somatic hybrids between these formae speciales was investigated. From segregating patterns in hybrids between the parents and pathological tests on isolated lines carrying single genes conditioning resistance it was found that SrMt2 and SrPs2, on the one hand, and SrPs3 and SrMn3, on the other were allelic. The genes SrMt1, SrPs1, SrMn1, and SrPp1 were allelic and considered to be identical with Sr18, previously described and shown to be present in wheat cultivars throughout the world.
