Pollen of Momordica charantia showed maximum mermination nnd drowth in 10% sucrose solution. In 10% SS to which 100 ppm boric acid was added and in 15% SS the tubes were abnormal. The rate of pollen tube growth in vitro was higher than the rate reported in vivo.
