Abstract

Yield-duration relationship was studied for evaluating optimum flowering duration of semi-dwarf rice during ahu season (April-August) in Assam. Data for the purpose were taken from 2 different varietal trials conducted at 2 locations of Assam, viz., Titabar and Karimganj in 1971 and 1973 respectively. A curvilinear relationship between yield and days to flower was noted at both locations, although in one location negative association was also quite pronounced. Flowering duration ranging from 85 to 100 days was indicated as the optimum for grain yield.
