Abstract

Tuberose (single and double types) were exposed to X-ray, gamma rays, fast neutrons and combined treatments. Tuberose double type was found to be more sensitive to radiations than single type. Eleven mutants with leaf colour variations were isolated in single type and two in double type. The mutants appeared more frequently with fast neutrons than with X-ray and gamma rays. Some of the mutants are attractive even during the vegetative period and will be of much ornamental value.
