Eleven varieties derived from different sources in India were tested for 4 seasons representing a wide spectrum of varying environmental conditions in Orissa. Stability parameters were determined. G 438 and C 431 were found to be general adopters and 143–20 and G 437 were superior under poor environments whereas No. 7 was better sinted under rich environments. All the above varieties need to be established for dry farming areas.
